Cotfield House was a true collaboration between Nagel and both the architect and the client. The client had a clear vision, which was realised through the architect’s “sophisticated bush” aesthetic.

Structural engineering solutions are both concealed and expressed internally, with concealed steel portal frames forming the gables, feature fireplaces that from part of the bracing solution, exposed trusses within the living area, and a feature steel staircase extending to a breezeway that leads to the mezzanine office.

Careful structural detailing ensures that the structure and connections combine seamlessly with the architectural intent and client expectations.
